July Recap

July has been challenging. Between attending burials every weekend, caring for my partner who was sick and getting laid off from my job, I am honestly surprised I crossed the month not feeling overwhelmed. I am glad this month is over.

I know the “getting laid off” will spark a lot of curiosity, but nope! I didn’t mess up, nor did my company. Things just happened! That’s a story for another day! I was fully prepared for it though and I planned for it well, but there is still a part of me that never gets used to not being at work every day. I didn’t jump on the job searching bandwagon that quickly. To be honest, I wanted to take a career break for a while but almost three weeks in and I miss the joy of having teammates, the pressure and just coding. I am glad though that during this abrupt break I took time to think about where my career is heading and achieved some personal to-dos that I had pending for so long.

I have also learnt a great deal about mental health and employment, so if you ever find yourself in a situation like mine, it’s not the end of the world. Talk to people, find something positive about the situation and the most important thing while you still have a job now, save wisely. Trust me, it relieves half the pressure.

Alright, now that is out of the way. I have to say my July wasn’t that interesting. No new music, trips, shows or books. I have only been binge-watching Chicago med on Netflix (Pretty sure, I could act as a doctor now!) and that was it!

I promise I am always interesting! (don’t judge me by this boring post😒)

but….

I am manifesting a great August!🌼
